Charis and I invited some girls over for a movie night. We made mac and cheese, apples, mangoes and popcorn and ate while watching Monsters vs. Aliens. It was a fun night but Charis would not stop narrating the movie. We need to work on that.
After the movie, we had a few minutes left for jumping on the bed and playing. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Soccer
Charis started soccer today!
She has been really wanting to play soccer, so I signed her up to play on a YMCA team. It was hot and all the kids got tired by the second half but she did great. She ran after the ball with all she had, never got intimidated by the other kids, kicked the ball in the right direction, and had lots of fun!

Diaper cake
I was co-hosting a baby shower for my friend, Meagan. So Charis and I made her a diaper cake. Charis was so excited to help and rolled almost all of the diapers by herself.
I sewed some receiving blankets and Charis picked out some small toys for Baby girl Brown.
It is the second diaper cake that I have made, I think it turned out good and we really enjoyed it.

Vision therapy graduation!!!
Charis graduated from Vision therapy today! YEA!!! I don't know who was more happy - Charis, Mom or Dad? After 2 1/2 years of everyday, hour long home eye exercises with monthly eye check ups and the last 6 months with vision therapy weekly visits...we are done! Mostly. We will still do weekly home eye exercises and check ups every 6 months and probably another round of vision therapy in 4 years. But that is so much easier than what we have been doing that we are all excited. Charis improved her vision a lot over the last 6 months and tested great on almost all the vision screening. God is good! Even the doctors are astonished by her improvements.
Stars in Your Eyes Vision Therapy and Dr. Sommer gave Charis a gift card to a bookstore, a graduation certificate and lots of encouragement along the way. Thanks Dr. Sommer!
To celebrate we went to her favorite "noodle" restaurant, it is a good Japanese restaurant, with great Yakasoba. We also gave her a little graduation present ... a new journal, kid chopsticks (which we learned don't work and took back and traded in for a new doll) and a new card game.
Congratulations Charis! We are so proud of you for working so hard at Vision therapy and eye exercises.
